November 6, 2006Girls:
Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball is pleased to announce that we are now a member of the Keystone Region of USA Volleyball. The Keystone Region is comprised of teams throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania, and is technically the region that all clubs with the exception of those which border Ohio, are to be a part of. While it is voluntary at the current time, it will eventually be the "standard" for all Western PA clubs.

This move does not change what tournaments we will attend, nor will it change our travel plans substantially. We are still permitted to participate in tournaments in the Ohio Valley Region along with tournaments in the Keystone Region. Our final tournament schedules are not complete, but we will still be attending the Early Bird, NEQ, Penn State, along with the Power challenges, and standard regional tournaments (ie: Cal. U. of Pa., Columbiana, Franklin Regional) and others. Some of our teams will attend tournaments toward the Harrisburg area (same distance as Columbus) with tournaments at Gettysburg College, St. Francis of Loretto, Shippensburg, and State College. These tournaments will allow our older teams additional exposure to other colleges and recruits.

In addition this also gives our Club the opportunity to host sanctioned tournaments through the Keystone Region, which we were unable to do through the Ohio Valley Region (due to restrictions on mileage requirements by the OVR). If you have any questions or concerns, please fee free to give a call or stop and speak with us at the tryouts.

May 27, 2004Penn State Information: Linda Urban and Debbie Fajerski will be signing in teams on the porch of Findlay Commons between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. All teams should report there to receive their dorm assignments. If you arrive late, we will have a note posted on the main door of Findlay Commons letting you know where to report. We also recommend you contact your team chaperone by cell phone to find out where she and your team is. When your chaperone checks in, she will then have your room keys. If you arrive before she does, we will give you your dorm assignment and key.

For first time goers to the Penn State Tournament, we recommend you park your car first (there will be police directing you) and then come to Findlay Commons. Do not carry your luggage until you find out where your dorm is. This will save steps. Also, it is supposed to be a warm weekend. The dorms are not air conditioned. We recommend bringing a portable fan.

This is a great tournament. Many things to do! Have a great time, safe trip and we will see you in Happy Valley on Friday.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Debbie Fajerski by phone or by email.
