Pittsburgh Elite is pleased to announce that all of our Seniors will be continuing their academic and volleyball careers in college. For details on their college plans, please click here.
We would like to thank our seniors for their leadership and their loyalty to our club. Several of the girls have been with Pittsburgh Elite for 6+ years. Good luck in your future endeavors, and thank you! You have continued the "ELITE TRADITION"!

May 11 -- 15 Black at Baldwin from 4:00-5:30pm, and 16 White at Baldwin from 7:00-9:00pm

The Keystone Region has yet to determine the exact playing days for each age group for the Open Championships in Downingtown PA May 4th & 5th. The info should be posted on the KRVA website at the end of this week. Hotel information will be available once the dates are set.

UPDATE (v2.0) - 2:00pm
Practices for the 16 Black have been scheduled as follows:
Saturday, March 8, 10:15 - 12:00 at Court Time - weather permitting.
Sunday, March 9, 5:00 - 7:00 at Court Time.
Practices for the 17 Gold have been scheduled as follow:
Saturday, March 8, 12:00 - 2:00 at Brashear HS - weather permitting.
Sunday, March 9, 7:00 - 9:00 at Baldwin.
Practice for 17 Black has been changed on Saturday to 12:00 - 2:00 at Brashear HS, weather permitting.
The 15 Gold tournament at Mercyhurst has been cancelled for tomorrow. Practice time for the 15 Gold team has been scheduled at Court Time from 10:15 - 12:00, weather permitting.
As of right now, the 16 White tournament on Sunday is still on.

KRVA is pleased to announce the inception of the Keystone Region High Performance program for girls. The first tryout will be held the afternoon before the 2-day Bid Seeding tournament your teams have been entered in. For any girls of Youth or Select age by USAV HP definitions (1992 and younger), this is a great chance to vie for a spot in the regional HP camp.

The bus for the Hoosier Tournament in Indianapolis will be departing at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Kohl's Parking Lot in Village Square. You can Mapquest directions from your home to Kohls located at 4000 Oxford Drive, Bethel Park, PA 15102. We have made arrangements for you to leave your cars if you wish in the upper part of Kohl's Parking Lot. Security has been advised that we will be leaving cars parked for the weekend. Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to departure so we can load the bus. We will be leaving promptly at 4 p.m. It is a long drive.

USA Volleyball High Performance Tryouts
***A National HP Tryout will be held in Columbus, OH***

Friday, February 15: Columbus, OH – Columbus Convention Center, 4-8PM
During March and April of each year, USA Volleyball offers tryouts to all girls who are interested in vying for a spot in one of our High Performance Programs. USA Volleyball High Performance manages:
• USA Girls’ Youth and Women’s Junior National Teams
• USA Girls’ Select National Program
• USA Girls’ Select, Youth and Junior A2 Programs
• Girls’ High Performance Development A1 & Development A2 Camps
HP Programs are based on the following age groups:
• Women’s Junior National Age Group – Women born in 1990 or 1991
• Girls’ Youth National Age Group – Girls born in 1992 or 1993
• Girls’ USA Select Age Group – Girls born in 1994, 1995 or later
Both the USA Girls Youth and Women’s Junior National Teams will compete in the NOCECA Qualifying Tournament during the summer of 2008! Girls USA Select National, Youth A2 and Junior A2 athletes will train and compete in Tucson, AZ, in the USAV High Performance Championships. High Performance Development A1 and Development A2 Camps are scheduled across the country after JOs in July. Take the first step to the path of the USAV Women’s National Team!! The Tri-State Elite Girls Volleyball College Prospect Camp, and the Rising Star Camp, have a new link to their website: www.tristateelitevb.net. Please note the change from .com to .net. In the next ten days, you will see many updates and changes to the camp website, as they have gotten commitments from over 40 college coaches already. While the camp is filling quickly, with the increased # of courts, and the addition of the 2nd wave, spots still remain. |

To the parents of the 16s, 17s and 18s,
.With the high price of gas and the time of travel, we made arrangements to rent buses for the travel to the Hoosier Tournament in Indianapolis. The cost is $80 per person. If you are interested in traveling to the tournament on the buses, please reserve a spot as soon as possible by sending in the attached form along with payment by February 15, 2008. The buses will be leaving Thursday, March 13 from a central location (to be announced) approximately at 4 p.m. Upon arriving in Indianapolis you will be taken to the hotel and each day the buses will take you to and from the tournaments. (no parking fees etc.) The buses will return to Pittsburgh immediately following the tournament.

The January 2008 schedule has been posted, and we have added three additional practice facilities. They are: a) Oakland Catholic HS (Pittsburgh, Pa), Downtown YMCA (Pittsburgh), and McAnulty Elementary School (Baldwin). For Directions, please visit our website and link to Events and Schedules, and you will find directions to each of these facilities. We are continually trying to add practice facilities. This will enable all of our teams to get maximum practice time.

He will be conducting interviews and then skills taping. This is a free service of Pittsburgh Elite. It is a very helpful tool during your recruiting efforts. All are recommended to participate. |

2008 Tournament information - Due to the success and positive feedback from other clubs in re: to our inaugural tournaments, we will be hosting tournaments at several age groups for both club and open. We expect teams from several regions to participate. Please see our tournament page for more details. In addition, the KRVA has announced that the 2008 "Bid Qualifier" will be held at Indiana University of Pa.. This is a reflection of more clubs from Western Pa. joining the Keystone region. We will continue to participate in several tournaments in the OVR, as well as other regions, when appropriate. It is our goal to provide our players the best competition available. |

ATTENTION ALL! We are pleased to announce we are finalizing our 2008 budget and we anticipate a reduction in your tuitions. This is due, in part, to the fact that the East Coast Championships held in Penn State, will be held in Pittsburgh this year. We also want to let you know that we be be entering our teams in a wide range of tournaments in order to provide our members with a high level of competition. Pittsburgh Elite Girls Volleyball is pleased to announce that we will be hosting three tournament dates for the 2008 JO season. As a member of the KRVA, we will be hosting the tournaments at our “home” facility, CourtTime Sports Center in Elizabeth, Pa. This center is currently a four court complex, with future plans to expand to six courts, and includes plenty of seating, a concession stand, and is close to major highways. Our goal is to bring in teams from several JO regions to provide quality competition, along with avoiding playing the same teams at tournaments. Last year, we had teams from three states attend our tournaments. We will be hosting both “Open” and “Club” tournaments this year. Click here here for more information. |
